The course is comprised of the following thematic units: maritime zones (internal waters, territorial sea, straits used for international navigation, contiguous zone, exclusive economic zone, continental shelf, high seas); the regime of enclosed and semi-enclosed seas; application of the law of the sea to Mediterranean (protection of the marine environment, fisheries and exploitation of other natural resources of the sea and the seabed, marine scientific research, sub-aquatic cultural heritage), maritime boundary delimitation; and settlement of international disputes of the law of the sea, with focus on disputes in the Mediterranean.
