In this course, a thorough, analytical and systematic discussion is developed on issues related to the phenomenon of migration and refugee flow in the wider region of the Mediterranean basin, as well as its consequences on the stability and security of the states in the region and European security, as well. In particular, this course examines the connection of new asymmetric threats, dangers and security challenges developed in the Mediterranean to the phenomenon of irregural migration, brings attention to and analyzes emphatically the causes of migration flow towards Europe, discusses thoroughly and evaluates European Union’s management of the migration/refugee crisis.
